BC Finance Minister Brenda Bailey tabled the province’s fiscal 2025–26 budget on 4 March 2025. Effective May 1, 2025, used zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) purchases and leases will be subject to B.C. 7% provincial sales tax (PST). The exemption for the used ZEVs that was introduced in 2022 budget was originally scheduled to end in 2027, and has been amended from February 22, 2027, to April 30, 2025 in the 2025–26 budget. For leases of used ZEVs entered into before May 1, 2025, any lease payments which become due after April 30, 2025, are not eligible for the exemption.
