The Canadian federal government, Ontario, Québec, and Manitoba provincial governments have announced optional sales tax return payments deferral, with no interest or penalties, as follows:

All returns, nonetheless,
must be filed by the standard due dates.
The federal and
the provincial sales tax return payments deferrals are more like short-term interest free
loans for businesses. This is because those taxes are taxes collected from
buyers and remitted to the respective governments. In other words, the
businesses are not paying anything out of their pockets. If net tax for the
respective period is negative (i.e. a refund), there is no payment to be
deferred.
